I didn't have an ultrasound with my prgenancy in 02/03. And I had a midwife, but wound up with a c-section anyway. I didn't see any purpose for the ultrasound. No risk factors, no abnormal blood tests. To me they are superficial and not medically necessary if there are no other indications that one is needed.I have a good friend who had every type of prenatal testing done in the book, and it all came back fine. Guess what? She had a Down's baby with a severe heart defect. Even modern medicine isn't perfect.
