To answer the qsotuien posed, no she did not have Amnio or CVS, as she was in her late 20 s and wasn't considered high risk, especially since every other test came back fine. Her little boy is doing okay and is an absolute gem he signs better than some deaf kids I know!My nephew has a congenital bone malformation (facial) that multiple ultrasounds did not detect. I think as a society we are looking to label our kids with diseases and special needs earlier and earlier. There is a fine line between wanting to know and over-diagnosis. The pervasiveness of helicopter parents has just made this problem worse.
