Rosacea A few yea
Rosacea A few years ago I was diagnosed with rocsaea of the eye, ocular rocsaea. I had bright red whites of the eye, they itched and I even had a discharge. Although the doctor at the eye clinic diagnosed it, he wanted me to go to my primary physician for treatment. I saw a PA at the clinic and he had never heard of it. I had to practically beg for antibiotics, I had regular rocsaea and told him to prescribe for that and worry about it later. I have some telangiectasias, or tiny blood vessels visible through the skin too. The guy in the book has it pretty bad, mine is under control and giving me little trouble since being put on doxycycline. If I drink enough to get tipsy, my face and a V shape on my chest turns bright red from it.Pigment Disorders I found these interesting because I used to try to wash the brownish areas off of my daughters face when she was little. It took me a while to realize they were pigment discoloration not dirt. She gets patches of darker skin on her forehead and one side of her face. I wonder if this is Melasma, they get darker in the summer months. She wasn't old enough to have hormones yet. She also has a few freckles, like on her ear, very odd placement. This would be a case of Ephelides, because they are light brown and appear in the sunny months. They fade in the winter. I have a few Lentigines (brown spots) on my hands, they also fade in the winter. I didn't realize albinism caused physical problems beyond a lack of pigment. I can understand photophobia, because of the lack of pigment, but rapid eye movements, eyes that do not track correctly, decreased visual acuity and functional blindness are also issues that they can have. As an autosomal recessive genetic condition, 1 in 70 is a carrier of albinism genes, but only about 1 in 17,000 has albinism. Ocular albinism effects the eyes, oculocutaneous albinism effects both the eyes and skin. Vitiligo or the loss of melanin that causes white patches of skin is what Michael Jackson had. He chose to have depigmentation therapy to deal with discolored skin. He could afford it.I know for a fact that putting water proof tape over a plantar wart (the kind on your feet) will get rid of them. I have done it. It has to be kept on all of the time for about 3 weeks. Change it when you take a shower of course. I has something to do with cutting off the air to it I think.
