By September 11, 2012 - 4:09 pmShe would need to get a referral for a sleep study from her prrimay care doctor. She may be prescribed a machine to assist with her breathing and she'll be able to sleep quietly! There are lots of devices and stuff on the market but I doubt they work.Sleep apnea is a sleep disorder, and it means the person stops breathing and suddenly starts again. If she has sleep apnea and it goes untreated it can raise blood pressure, damage the heart and cause weight gain, and the weight gain makes the snoring worse. Try WebMD for more info.
