I can't tell if you
I can't tell if you guys are kidding or if mwrdifeiy is somehow considered alternative' in the US. The world over, midwives are who deliver babies (at hospitals, homes and birthing centres) and ob/gyns are fantastic people to have as back up in emergencies or for c-sections. I realize that isn't necessarily the case in the US, but are there really people who think that pregnant women under midwives' care don't have any and all screening and diagnostic tests available to them? Of course they do. Both my children were delivered by midwives and all my tests were a matter of ROUTINE. The World Health Organization takes a more amibiguous view of ultrasounds than do midwives. Midwives are highly trained, experienced medical professionals. If Selma Blair is opting out of tests, that's entirely her business, but it's not because she is using a midwife. That's simply incorrect.
