I remember my ienrevitw at the home of a Penn alumnus. Having no idea how important, or unimportant this would be, I arrived with an open mind. My theory, however, was that most people like to talk about themselves. I asked him about his experiences at college and he was only too happy to oblige, ad infinitum. By the time we were finished, I knew much about him and he knew much less about me, other than I was a good listener. My approach seemed to have worked, as I gained early acceptance. As for clothes, I wore khaki pants, a blue oxford shirt and a decent pair of Topsiders; nothing too offensive there. Because I looked comfortable, my ienrevitwer was put at ease. Polite and attentive goes much further than working to be brilliant or trying to look perfect.MGC
