For the high school seionr:As a freshman at an Ivy, I went through similar processes last year. You did not mention if you were male or female, but I can give advice to the women. For a casual, warm look, I would recommend a skirt (not tight! A-line, pencil or cautiously mini made of good material) with black tights, riding boots and a cardigan, with a coat over it. Or you could do khakis, ballet flats and a sweater. Or dark, dark jeans tucked into riding boots with a sweater. Do not show much skin, and keep the accessories minimal and classy (perhaps a string of pearls?). Also keep your makeup and hair natural and light, but groomed. To be honest, your local alumni interviewer will not have much sway in your admission, but that shouldn't stop you from trying to impress them with your personality, friendliness, and comfortable persona. That's all they're really looking for. Someone who is a real person, not just a bookworm, who will add something to the community at Yale.
