Pasolini also directed the cult clsisac film, Salo: The 120 Days of Sodom, a film so repulsive it was banned in most countries. My favorite family film for sure. Shortly after filming he was supposedly shot to death by a gay boy prostitute, although some suspect he was actually killed by neo-fascists for the film's ludicrious portrayl of the Italian Social Republic. Ironically, his father was a blackshirt and helped execute the anarchist boy who attempted to assasinate Mussolini during a speech. For those who haven't had a chance to see it, I would highly recommend watching the recent film, Waiting For Superman. It's a fascinating documentary on the sorry state of American public education and the near-psychopathic behavior of teacher's unions in the USA. Despite the fact that the US had the best public education in the world during the 1950s-70s, education spending has increased ten times what it was during the 70s, yet basic reading and math scores have been roughly the same for over 50 years. Entire schools are now labelled drop-out factories, where half of the students drop out of high school and head straight to prison. ABOLISH PUBLIC EDUCATION!
