There are a few TSB'
There are a few TSB's regarding this issue in pataiculrr. The first possibilty is the crank sensor which has already been suggested. While this is a possibilty it is very unlikely. The more plausible option is that it is a ground issue in the IGN C Circuit. This is a common problem with Fords but unforuntately is rather expensive. The problem has nothing to do with the timing belt, as the speedo is not effected by any components associated with t belt swap. Would hook up a scanner and see if a tcm code spits out. if not, could be simply a problem in the IRP4 circuit, which requires simply unhooking the #41 terminal and reattaching after discharging the complete Power circuit.Hope this helps
