"People on the left believe in helnpig individuals and families first."How is it going to help individual Canadians and Canadian families to bring in hoards of older immigrants (parents and grandparents). We baby-boom aged Canadians often hear about what a burden we are going to be on the system, yet we have been paying taxes all our lives. So now suddenly it is a good idea to bring in MORE baby-boom aged people who have never paid a dime into the system? The Liberals and NDP seem to think so. And how it a good idea to bring in a bunch of dysfunctional, high-needs Somali refugees, most of who will end up on welfare or in jail? How is that helnpig, for example, aboriginal Canadians?And how is it a good idea to bring in hoards of rich people from Mainland China? They have driven the housing prices in Vancouver so high that most people my age who were born in Vancouver can no longer afford to live there, nor can our children. Their children may not be disproportionately criminal, but they are clogging up 80% of the spaces for science students at UBC. And it is not as if we were living in the stone age before the clever Chinese came along to rescue us. We were doing just fine thankyou, and Vancouver was a beautiful, quiet and safe city when I grew up there in the 1960's. Now it is full of gangs and horrible traffic. I want the old Vancouver back.
