For those of you who don't know who he was, his father co-founded the big Philips company. He and the company have meant a lot for my city, Eindhoven, where it all started. He died at the age of 100.
I poked my dad about it just now this morning before he left for work, after I heard about it on the radio. He said something about having to sing then, some time soon. They've expected this to happen sooner or later, so they apparently had prepared some music for the occasion already.
And of course the front page of our newspaper started with this news, too, I saw. I expect something similar with the tv news and stuff.
Quack.
