But presumably other people at your school have the same model? Try borrowing one of their chargers.
Guido and I both have Dell laptops, bought a few months apart but they take the same charger. Then one day one of our chargers spontaneously stopped charging both laptops, fortunately after we moved in together. So could be the problem's not with your laptop but the charger.
