I can't do Midwife because it's twins, but at my practice, you get the Midwife to help you through the early stages of labor, no matter what. Then, I will be moved to the OR for delivery, but only because it's twins and you have to be ready for an emergency. The two main doctors I see at the practice both do vaginal twin birth, even if the second one is breech! That's HUGE, and I'm so blessed by that. I've been told if they aren't at the hospital that day, whoever is there will call one of the ones who does it.
Also, my practice pushes vaginal birth unless medically necessary (danger to life of babies or mother or both). They really prefer to not have to operate.
I will have to do an epidural, again, because Twin deliveries can go bad fast (one delivered fine and other suddenly goes into distress), but the doctors are with me on waiting until I progress to at LEAST a 6 before doing it.
So, I'm really REALLY blessed. Not all practices are as great as mine. I'm thrilled. 31 Weeks today... They said based on the boys' size, I'll be delivering between 36 and 38 weeks. Lefty is 64% and Righty is 58%. Doesn't seem like much, until you factor in most twins are 40%. :D Big boys!
