I get (if I've figured right) .62 per litre. Note that this is strictly in my area only, it's more if you go into the city. And, this is for generic, unfancy stuff.
But we don't buy it that way.
For the luddite record (and who says YOU shouldn't be the one to change?) That's 2.35 per US Liquid Gallon. But it's different here for a variety of reasons...
1. taxes imposed by federal, state, and local can make a difference from town to town.
2. your distance from a refinery. (For the record, I drive past 2 of them on the way to work. And there are approx 10 of them within 50 miles of me).
3. Not to mention brand markups, most of which have "additives" like detergents that jack up the price. For the record, all gasoline produced in the US goes to the same distribution points, which means ALL fuel stations are selling the same stuff, with the only difference being the additives that are put in while the tanker is being loaded for delivery.
4. Or, you live in a state that has totally taken control of everthing and made a mucking of it by requiring complicated chemistry be done to the fuel that we now are finding out may be Contributing to problems. Which gives you why you pay so much in some places.
That is all.
