The raise in oil prices has sprung some very protective measures from the Argentinian govermnent. They have locked the value of the oil barrel in a ludicrous value by today's international context: around $30 per barrel.
So, gasoline values are stable at around 65 cents per liter for unleaded premium (98 octane and up), and 62 cents for 95 octane. Gas-oil (diesel) is around 48 cents. Also, they use natural gas for cars here, at around 27 cents per cubic meter (and going up).
I've calculated that gasoline prices in the US are still CHEAPER there than here, despite the price lock inposed by the local govermnent. And I'm surprised...
