My life was completely saturated with the Olympics. We'd have it on at home of course because we wanted to watch it, but at work I was constantly surrounded by it. Working for the host broadcaster, you couldn't escape even if you wanted to. I worked out on Monday that I'd been seeing up to 13-14 hours a day of Olympics. It feels very strange now it's gone!
The Paralympics will be really, really weird. We're not the host broadcasters so we'll only have very limited rights to the footage for reporting on local competitors (and we only have 5 Paralympians - compared to 15 Olympians). And whereas BBC One was showing Olympic coverage from 5am-1am, stopping only for the news (and then that news was full of Olympics), come the Paralympics it will just be life as normal. I'm sure we'll have plenty of tvs tuned into Channel 4 at work, so we can watch it, but it won't be like the last two weeks where every screen in the building which wasn't showing something we were currently cutting/rehearsing/broadcasting was showing the Olympics. (We even built our own little Olympics set in a corner of the newsroom, to present from.)
