Hmph forgot password, so can't log in but anyways, I can't help as I don't use paypal but... I understand credit cards are really good for making payments overseas, though it sounds like that wouldn't work in your situation. Apparently they have the advantage of not charging conversion fees up the wazo.
However, when I thought of that I thought of a general gift card I had recieved for christmas that was through visa. A little googling brought me here.
