...the 'honeymoon didn't last long'. In between my job-hopping (bad economy, for the most part) and Sean's own issues, we ended up having to move in with his folks around October 2009. By the following June, I'd pretty much given up any hope of mending our relationship (no job, feeling kinda trapped, having to give up my cat due to stupid town regulations limiting number of pets per property, etc.), so I left him.
The writing was on the wall for a long time before that, though, but it took me finally gathering the strength to know to get out. Sean understood; he could see how miserable I was, and yet never did a thing to actually try to help me. I worked for Target last Christmas (ended at the end of the year, so until the Mazzio's job, I was once more unemployed).
We finally managed to get all the paperwork together and filed in August, citing incompatibility. No property or children together, which made things much easier for both of us. We're still friends, and he's happy that I'm working again.
I'm still hoping of getting a better job in the near future. Looking at the turnpikes, which offer the toll collector position at close to $2k USD per month; even though I passed the qualification test with flying colors, it's not easy to get in, especially with my job history.
