I won a $15 ChikFilA gift card. I received a $50 Mastercard, a candle, a $10 WaWa card. And I was EXHAUSTED by the end of it.
You see, in early November, after the success of the fourth, and final, Employee of the Month party on which I served as committee member (the last three I was Chairman after our first Chairman left the company), I was asked to help facilitate games for the Company Christmas Party. No problem!!
Until last Thursday. After being out Monday and Tuesday for illness, I was called into a meeting Thursday and asked to bring suggestions for the games. Little did I know that I was about to find out I WAS THE GAME COMMITTEE! I had one week to come up with games, make print outs, get supplies, and keep 50 grown adults entertained for three hours.
We ended up playing Christmas Celebrity and doing a handout on Christmas songs in photos for prizes to start. Then we did a Christmas gift exchange, then a Name that Tune game, rounded out with a competition to make the best Snowman out of toilet paper and a few supplies.
I. Am. Wiped. The $50 gift card's already spent on something practical; black, flat winter shoes. My only winter shoes are 2 years old, and they're brown.... And I have NO black flats in my shoes... so I'm stuck wearing heels all the time. OUCH.
So, while I enjoyed the party and all the accolades from my comrades, I'm done with planning. I'm OVER running company parties. I've done FOUR this year, including coordinating the first ever company Thanksgiving meal. Done. Totally done.
Merry Flippin' Christmas.
