What's new with my life?
Well, I don't know if everyone here knows, but I got fired from my job at the print shop last April. Mixed feelings about that, since I hated the job, but needed the money, and didn't have another job lined up.
Unemployment was denied due to some trumped-up "gross misconduct" claims. I fought that and lost.
Tried to get jobs, with little success. Did a few various temp jobs.
Then, in mid-October, a door I thought had closed reopened. I got hired by Gandi.net in their new US office. Everything since then has been very good, and I've been told I'm breaking records in how fast I'm learning this stuff.
Christmas and New Year's were good. Standard stuff, like previous years.
This past Thursday, my grandfather just died. (This was my dad's dad and last living grandparent.) It was a bit of a release really, since he had dementia for the past several years. He was convinced my aunt was trying to poison him and beat him up. Well, he's in a better place and no longer confused.
And in the future, we're finalizing on me buying a house on the 21st of January. It's right next door to my parents' house and it was quite cheap compared to its estimated value. We were going to have it settled by the 30th of December, but they couldn't get the termite inspection done in time. All the paperwork is good, though.
Well, that's me... How's everyone else?
