I was the same, certainly not a natural driver, and I hated the entire process of learning and taking and retaking tests. I had to take six tests before I finally passed, and I thought I'd never get there. I too was forced by my parents to learn, as they knew if they left it up to me I wouldn't have bothered ;-) Which is probably true, and at least I've got it now even if I don't use it for a while and have to take refreshers when I get a job and a car - at least the basic ability is there, and that's nice to know.
You'll get there, don't give up - good luck with it, and remember it won't last forever.
