Form the precious few things you wrote about your bf in the past (how he never helped around the house, etc) it does sound like you made the right decision. 7 years is a long time and of course you feel strange, suddenly out of a relationship after all that time, but you are probably better off. It's also very valuable knowledge for what type of guy you don't want in the future, you'll be able to spot them straight away, discounting them as a possibility and moving on to better options for yourself. :)

Go do something fun with friends. It's the weather for it, for sure... In a few weeks, it won't feel nearly as bad.
