I'm
Treatable!

Thank you everyone for the kind thoughts and prayers. I got to see the results of the breathing test and while my exhales and larger pathways are fine, there is some "narrowing" of the smaller ones likely due to inflammation and swelling because my lungs never healed properly from the October 08 mold issue.
The bad news is that it was resulting in me not getting a smooth flow of air IN which is why I kept feeling like my lungs weren't full enough. The good news is that it is treatable and that I could be better in a few months if I keep up with the medication. I have a followup with a ONE HOUR (this last one was half hour) breathing examination at the end of April.
I nearly burst into tears a couple times. Firstly, I HATE going to the doctors. Then, I looked over and saw a Bible on the counter. I've NEVER seen a Bible in a doctor's office, but it gave me a sense of peace to know God was with me. Also, my old GP kept telling me I just had heartburn and that there was nothing wrong with me... so my new GP immediately saw an issue an sent me to the pulmonary specialist and for the first time I could SEE the problems on the chart. Someone FINALLY believed me and after a year of suffering, I'm getting the treatment I need.
I can't tell you what a weight off my chest that is (figuratively and literally). I thought I'd have to live with this crushing, short-of-breath feeling the rest of my life, but there's a chance I might not. And just that chance, just to know it's there means the world to me.
So, thank you for the thoughts and prayers! You guys are great. Even if we've all turned into what Tony DiNozzo on NCIS would call "Functional Mutes," I adore you all!
