First bloody day of work after 6 weeks break has finished, filling up the car with petrol (gas for you foreigners...) and the teapot in front of me in the queue in his 4WD Nissan Patrol decides to reverse his car! Straight back into my beautiful Mazda 6!!!!
I had time to sound the horn and then bang! Grill is all bent and broken, bumper is bent and dented, other assorted mangled bits... nothing huge and the car is perfectly driveable but still an insurance claim.
I got out and yelled at him. He was an arrogant little shit and said that I shouldn't be getting upset... UPSET??? Look what you've done to my car you ^%$#$#@ tosser! Meanwhile the rest of the people filling up at the station are getting a good show and some light entertainment.
Anyway, things cooled down a bit and I got his name and address etc. It's all his fault of course so I just have to claim on my insurance. He's on the petrol station's camera most likely anyway so he hasn't a leg to stand on if he causes trouble.
So, *I* now have to run around, get the car assessed by the insurance company (SGIO Australia for those who care) and then get my car booked into a panelbeater's and of course have my car off the road for a few days. The smash repair guys say it'll take them about 3 - 4 working days to fix it all up shiney new. (for those who care again - J&M Smash Repairs in Malaga here in Perth - I highly recommend them, they did a beautiful job on my rear-ended Commodore a few years ago. Great pair of brothers who still know what customer service really means)
But anyway... it just *HAD* to happen yesterday on the first day back at work didn't it?... Coun;dn't have occured during the 6 weeks summer break I've just had could it? Nooo... that would be the fates being nice for a change!
One good thing that does come out of this is that I get a new hood/bonnet to the car and so with the repair they'll be getting rid of this nasty scratch it has on it that's been bugging me :P
