Working with him's not really an option. It's totally and utterly out of my field, and admin staff (where my skills would translate to) are required to speak German. Round and round in circles.
I'm half-considering teaching ESL, but that's a worst case scenario. I've always sworn I would never teach - I think Mum wouldn't forgive me. (She was a teacher and I think she'd be disappointed I hadn't learnt from her if I went and became one!)
We've got time to figure things out yet. If nothing else, I aint going anywhere before Christmas 'cos I've still got this job. And there's absolutely no saying what happens at the end of that, so we don't even know yet what our options are.
I actually really like German (except when I hate it) and am reasonably good at learning it. It's just the big scary gulf of time between now and fluency. It's very scary and big.
