It's wild to see the amazing changes in my house in the 2 1/2 weeks I've owned it. We've painted the hall, master bedroom, dining room and living room. Bathrooms yet to be done and the kitchen's halfway, but it's an amazing improvement. Mom's offered to do the trim and the ceilings, so that'll happen next week.
In the meantime, my stepdad put up a bunch of our light fixtures, including the Kitchen lights Mum gave me as a housewarming gift... and the dining room light looks lovely! He's changing out all the receptacles so they're white instead of cream, and things are really coming together. We have new locks on the doors and a new lock on the one window where it was broken. Oh, and the plastic sheeting's been ripped out of our tub.
A friend of ours builds houses for a living and had some tile left over from a job. He's going to use it to put around our tub because he said the plastic could hold in mold that could make me sick (I have an epi-pen I'm so allergic!) and he won't let us pay him! So, since I'd budgeted $300 for that, I'm now putting that money into a new vanity and cabinet for the bathroom instead. It's a tremendous blessing to see all this coming together!
We still need to buy a fridge, but Matt's taken measurements, and we're dreaming of built-in cabinets for the living room. Will we achieve all this in the next few months? Unlikely, but we're working to get as much done as possible so we feel secure in our own space. I already feel exhilarated!
Pics perhaps tmra. Tonight I'm taking a break. I hurt my shoulder somehow yesterday and Dad's making St. Patty's day meal of Cornbeef and Cabbage, and I best not miss that! Tmra? Finish painting the kitchen on my lunchbreak and get ready for a busy weekend of building! Here's hoping for good weather!!
ACK!
