Although my mum's old school took the kids to the supermarket. But we're talking 4-5 year olds walking a few minutes round the corner ;0) They'd get to make doughnuts, swipe things through the till etc. And on the way home they'd get a portion of chips (their route goes past a fish and chip shop) to share between all the kids.
I think it sounds like a lot of fun :0)
Actually, come to think of it I went on a tour round the same supermarket when I was in school and it was just opening. We didn't get to do anything fun like that :0P
