So, when I first logged onto the Sev Facebook group, I was surprised to see a link to an old IRC chat. So, I started looking up old Sev IRC chats and just had an amazing giggle over it all. There are so many things I'd forgotten. I think I even found one that I ran! I could see mentions going back to 1999, and it just tickled me ever so much. There were a lot of Sevilians in those chats who you no longer see here, and it broke my heart just a little bit to think of all the fun we had back TEN YEARS AGO. Wow. LOL.
I found a bunch of IRC chats I attended and saved them all just for posterity's sake. I'll go through them all when I have a chance, but today's another whirlwind day in my life!
BTW: In one of those chats I saved, Johan TOTALLY admits dumping the sev punch lines. Muahahah> I wish I still knew my IRC or ICQ login. It's just been too long. Last time I think I had that written down was on Sev Forward... Oy.
Last night I hit 60,000 words on the novel. It's been a struggle to find time to write lately. I seem to be getting out more and more with friends, which means I get home later and more exhausted. So, I'm doing what I can to write about 2,000 words a day if I can help it. Yesterday I got 3,000 done, and that felt really good. I'm to my big climax in the novel right now, but there's a TON of denouement with this story, so it'll be interesting to see just how many words it finishes out at, and this is just a rough draft that I can go back and rewrite later. :) A friend of my mum's is getting published by this independent publisher who's looking for new authors. So, my mum's putting the fire under me to try and get this done in a timely manner. I'm hopeful, if a bit nervous!!
As for the house, we made it through the first hurdle. Since this is a foreclosed home, things are a bit different than they are for a regular home. We got approval from the bank. Just waiting on their mortgage company to OK making up the difference since the bank amended the price twice. Matthew and I are so excited, and I'm just elated at the thought of no longer being in a home that makes me physically ill.
I miss Gizzy... and Anji... and TLE... and TiZ.... *sniff* Just going through those old IRC Chats made me realize how many aren't around anymore, and it kinda makes me sad. Then I realize how STRANGE it is that as many of us are STILL around. So, I'm trying to stay positive. I think if we breathed life back into this board, it'd totally be rockin' again. :)
