Last night, I arrived home to find my WGA Registration # waiting for me. The WGA sent me two copies of my certificate. I'm not sure why, but I will be sure to keep those VERY safe. I'm going to put them with my Passport, Birth Certificate and Social Security Card. Yes, these are that important.
I printed out six copies of my screenplay last night. Two are going to Summit Entertainment, one to the CEO and one to Chris Weitz, the man tapped to direct New Moon. Another will be headed to Temple Hill Productions, the production group that produced the first movie. Still, another, will go to Catherine Hardwicke's representation. Even though she's not directing, again, I think she's a good person to keep on the list. Another will go to Rob Pattinson's agent, and the last to Stephenie Meyer (the writer of the books) via her publishing company.
Am I mental? Quite possibly. My mum has a FedEx account, and has already offered to let me use it to send out my scripts. So, after work I'll be at the nearest FedEx/Kinkos. I have put the barbs in the holes along the spine of the script (top and last only. Middle remains open) and I just need a cover page, something VERY short. A little two or three sentence letter acknowledging I know there is a screenplay in the works, but I would like to offer an alternative viewpoint on the world of "Twilight" via my adaptation of "New Moon."
I was completely calm last night as I worked, and even though I feel a twinge of nerves as I look towards the future, I'm just excited to be moving forward, and trusting in God. If this is His will, it will come together. I'm sure of it. Last night, I only had ink enough to print maybe half a script, but I tried anyway, and was able to print six copies without issue. A Christmas miracle? Perhaps. I'm just soo grateful right now.
Just wanted to update you on how crazy I am. :)
