I am currently in Oklahoma processing for the army. The entire ordeal should take within 4-7 days to complete, but that doesn't mean I'll be leaving right away. Apparently the army has a quota to fill or something, because they don't start releasing anyone until they have about 250 people to get rid of. So, luck pending, I will either be out of here on the 14th or the 21st.
Meanwhile, this place sucks. For the most part, it's exactly like boot camp: open bay berthing (which means no jerking off to Selma--GRRR! ;), having to memorize a bunch of bull$hit that I'll completely forget once I'm out of here, and waking up at 4AM and going to bed at 10PM.
There are some differences, however. I get the evening off, the drill sergeants are pretty laid back, I can wear my contacts (a HUGE plus!), and there are several recreational places I can go while on base (can't leave the base though, but there's nothing to do outside the walls, anyway).
I'll try to post some pictures sometime. It won't be immediately since I'm using a public computer, but I'll see what I can do. In the meantime, I hope you all are doing well and don't worry too much about me--I'm fine.
