They're the second biggest, only after the BBC. The I stands for Independent, because they were (in 1955) the first channel/broadcaster besides the BBC.
The 430 job cuts in regional news represent about 1/4 of the people in regional news. And I think the rest of the company will lose about 600 across various other departments? Not sure. To be honest, ITV seem to make a couple of hundred people redundant every few years.
