By that definition, the only thing that makes the venus flytrap a plant is the fact it's rooted to the ground ;)
Personally I hate all mosquitoes regardless of size, which is why I happily live in peace and harmony with any spiders that come into the house. Flying insects in general make me nervous, on the off chance they might be mosquitoes in disguise....
