I kinda liked season 8, even if it wasn't nearly as good as anything that came before. 9 was lame (until Series Finale, which, I liked, unlike most of fandom....)
As for the latest movie, I Want To Believe, I rather enjoyed it, at least if we limit ourselves to the characters, Mulder, Scully, (and OMG they had Skinner!) and their interaction, which was arguably the best thing about it. The mystery (or MotW if we use the series notation) was kinda lame though, and hardly memorable.
Just my two cents.
