The basics of the game is simply to answer a question once or twice a day, choosing from a handful of options. It's all in simple text form, like one of those silly memes/quizzes, and there's no need to have any contact at all with the other players :P
Second Life on the other hand is all about contact and meeting other people, you can't really play the game at all without it. It has more in common with Worlds, CyberTown, Active Worlds, Moove Online, OuterWorlds etc etc etc etc....
I'm positive I saw something about an msn version as well, but limited to a couple of preset backdrops.... not that I really care, I only play RuneScape :P
