it used to do 5 sheets at once and still have room for your tie. Now it gets stuck if you feed a second sheet in before the first one's gone through.
(oh, yeah - after the meeting finished, I had to shred the 100+ sheets of minutes / reports / comments that we'd taken in for reference. Well, it was (marginally) faster than walking them to the train station)
