So, the hubby and I really haven't had any time away from the world since the honemoon (last June), and worse, until last month we've been on opposite schedules our whole marriage. I worked nights, he worked days.
Now, we're on much more similar schedules, and it's making everything so much easier. So, when Matthew found out he had this weekend off (a rarity), he decided we should go away for a few days. So, we've been online this weekend and settled on a sweet little place to hide from the world for a few days. We've told everyone we love that we're going away, and not to try to get ahold of us, and we've made the reservations.
We're doing a bed and breakfast in a small town I know about only because I've been there twice with my mom when her friend was making my wedding dress. It's $180 a night, but it's a beautiful room in a beautiful city with a queen bed and two-seater jacuzzi. I'll take it. ;) Also, food in this city is cheap at the eateries, so that's wonderful. And, the beach is right there, so we can go walking on the beach at any time.
That's not bad, because $180 was the weekend price for our B&B on our honeymoon... and there was no jacuzzi. :)
Sometimes, you just need to get away, and with the pace of both our jobs, it's time for a break. We spend our weekends working on the house, or with friends and family, which is wonderful, but we haven't really had time just the two of us... and we need that.
So, romantic weekend, here I come!
