That's because...
...there's a HTTP pragma no-cache command in the pages of the SB.

Without it, your browser would pull the pages from its cache and not display new posts properly sometimes.

It does however cause images to be refreshed as well. And since some images are of a stupid filesize, some may load up noticeably slow and some which have a proper filesize will load up so quick you won't really notice it at all.
