No, but it does help put things in perspective a little. As further proof of American arrogance, we have virtually no foreign shows broadcasted on our stations. The only exceptions I can think of off the top of my head are Spanish shows shown on some Spanish station that I saw while in New York, Are You Being Served? which was shown on the Public Broadcasting Station, and the original Who's Line is it Anyway? and Absolutely Fabulous shown on Comedy Central. I don't know of anything else (since I plain just stopped watching TV five years ago when I joined the Navy), but as far as I know, that is the limit of foreign influence us USians have.
