You'll need to have Javascript enabled to use the colour picker, I'm fairly sure. (Failing that, you could always just type the hex value into the box yourself, if you know it.)
For what it's worth, I only tested in Safari, but none of the code I wrote personally (can't vouch for Johan's bit :P) is browser-specific.
