So like two or three weeks ago, I spoke at my university about cultural differences between the Soviet Union and the Netherlands before an audience of exchange students.
I had this 2x3.5 yard communist USSR flag with me which I hung on the blackboard for the purpose of the presentation, then rolled the blackboard up the wall.
So halfway down the presentation, just when I'm done talking about the downfall of the Soviet union... the flag drops on the floor.
Okay so I pick it up and I tell them, "seems the flag is following the fate of a certain country", everybody needs to take 5 to stop giggling and start paying attention again and I finish the presentation. Everything's well. Back home I hang the flag back on the wall.
A week later or so, I hear a soft rattling noise in the middle of the night. I wake up and I can't figure out where it's coming from, until the flag falls off the wall! So I go back to sleep and I hang it up next morning. This night, it falls off again!
So at this point I'm more than a little upset with it so what do I do, I take the flag, fold it, and put it up on a shelf.
2 hours later I'm startled by a soft rattling noise, I loop up just in time... to see the flag unfold itself, and slide off the shelf onto the floor!
Seriously, never before have I seen a flag with aspirations to become a doormat.
