Winona Ryder has a role in the new star trek movie. The 36 year old actrice will be playing the vulcan mother of the younger Spock.
The film magazine Variety reports that Eric Bana has a role in the movie as well. The eleventh star trek movie will be directed by j.j. abrams, earlier responsible for among others "mission impossible 3", and will focus on the first mission of the Starship Enterprise.
Bana will be playing bad guy Nero, Simon Pegg will play Scotty and heroes-star Zachary Quinty will portray Spock.
The movie is scheduled to appear around christmas time in the US. The last star trek movie, Nemesis, is from 2002.
Coming saturday people with "distinct physical features" can apply during an open casting for the roles of walk-ons. Specifically people with small heads, huge ears, long necks or bulging eyes are welcome. If you choose to apply and are picked for the role of a Vulcan, you must promise to shave your eyebrows.
Ryder wasn't much on screen these last few years. She avoided publicity after she was caught shoplifting. She is back to work meanwhile though. She will be starring in "the informers", made after a book of Brett Easton Ellis and in "the last world". Winona Ryder is famous for roles in movies such as "edward scissorhands" and "dracula".
