Gather 'round little children, and listen to a tale that made a poor bride scream, and a mad bride wail.
When once the girl did ask, for the food amount to task, the maid said, "Don't you fret! The date isn't nearly here yet!"
And, low, the number gi'en proved false, and quicked did the bride's poor pulse, for the quoted number grew and grew, and the bride's frustration easily did too.
And so, the bride stood check in hand, trying so hard to understand, that the gip was up and she was screwed, because of what the maid thought she had due.
Six grand was passed to the maid that day, two grand more than the bride had to pay, and the honeymoon she'd dreamed about, fell away, replaced by fear and doubt.
There is a lesson to this tale, to make sure other brides don't wail, never use the food maiden I called, because you'll be left with nothing at all.
Yeah. So, the amount she'd been telling me the whole way through (last 7 months) apparently didn't include taxes, gratuity and labor. Yeah, I was absolutely pissed. I was heart-broken, but Dad said the numbers added up, and Mom said she'd deal with it after the wedding. So, I did my part, I suppose.
I hit a low point two nights ago where I was on the floor crying. Matthew was by my side, trying to get me to calm down. I was just a wreck.
Now, though, three days before the wedding, I feel content. The only thing left to do is pack, and pick a cake topper. Yeah, we kinda put that off, but it'll work out. Everything else is done, and I'm going to be a bride on Saturday. I'm going to walk down the aisle to my loving man. He's going to be there, gazing back me, and I'm going to just BLUSH. It'll be wonderful. So much beauty to be had!
So, SCREW the other crap. I'm getting married, and I'm excited about it. And, honeymoon!! Squeee. Getting out of here (work) for a week!? Yeah, heaven. The weather will be iffy, but it's ok. Life goes on. :)
So, that's my life. I'm getting married shortly, and it's scary and wonderful and beautiful. Squee.
