I'm working in a news room. It's really grand, and I have the greatest shift ever. 2:30pm-11:30pm. Of course, I'm in training, now, so that won't start til Monday, but I'm truly excited.
Tomorrow marks one week of working at this job, and I'm excited that I really like it, there. The people are generally nice, I've met most of the ones who will be important to my day-to-day functions. It's just a lot of stuff going on, right now.
I happen to come in right before sexual harassment lessons, for example. It just takes out of my work time, which is annoying, but required.
I can be seen on the local news in the corner of the screen during one of our broadcasts... It's just the top of my head, but it makes me giggle to see my cowlick bouncing about as I work at my desk. And, working that late at night means I have the day to do what I please. I'm not bogged down and kept away from the sun.
It's actually a role that has been filled by one person from 9:30-6:30pm. She's now moving to 6am-3pm, and I'm 2:30pm-11:30pm. We'll overlap slightly, but it's going to be fine. She's a doll. And, now we can hopefully get twice the work done. Though, I'm worried about the evening shows. Lots going on. Lots of moving about and people going nuts trying to get information. Eep.
Still haven't had a chance to show off the new heels, either... Hmmm. Stupid stuff, I know.
Well, thanks for asking about the first day! :) Can't wait til the first payday I'm in for this Friday. Sure, it's a small check since I only worked three days last week, but I'll take it. :)
